I FINISHED A THING! WITHOUT ANY RELATION TO YULETIDE! AND MANAGED TO FINISH IT BEFORE CIVIL WAR OPENS IN THE STATES! GO ME! Ahem.

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?
This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.
Damn, Plei. I didn't know I wanted that, until I read it.
I knew I wanted it. It was like pulling teeth slowly to, oh, finish writing it, but I knew I wanted it.
Mostly, though, and I am telling you because YOU are a person who would appreciate this: mostly, I am just really pleased that I got to use the word biliverdin in something.
Excellent story, Plei!

That jumped out at me. Well done!
Thanks, peeps!
Oh, also: is this technically a first-time fic? It is, right?
Depending on how you are defining first-time fic. I think in tagging terms, it usually refers to first time between two characters, in which case, certainly. After that, we're getting into How Do You Define Virginity territory (this has its own tag--hell, I think there's a specific canonical or two for the level of sexual experience for the character above and beyond the general, pan-fandom one). Which, yeah, that's the implication there, for sure*. I'm sure readers could infer other ... activity previous to Project Rebirth from the dialogue, mind, but even then, probably not to the extent that it would be considered having had sex in this case.
* I didn't tag it with that because that's not what it's about?** Like, I think people looking for that wouldn't be looking for this when looking for that. Because it's not a big deal, right? It's incidental, not integral. Yes, I am quoting Harold and Maude again. Anyhow,
** It would be a very different story if it were--I think I have that story in my drawers somewhere, never to be unleashed, because a: it wasn't really something I thought through beyond a few images; and b: it wasn't something that I was interested in pursuing further beyond said images. Which were mostly about the differences in underpinnings and relative bush levels, okay? And wound up being mostly my own musings about how what's considered sexy or sensual varies with the times. And also wound up with me, once again, seeking out vintage lingerie, a habit I totally justify with cosplay, but is really rooted in my own love of a good girdle. I couldn't really afford to pursue it, is what I'm saying here. The habit is bad enough without me feeding it.
Also, man, how does our site HTML *NOT* allow for superscript? Makes my footnoting INCREDIBLY difficult.*
* I suppose I could cheat and do it this way.**
** but then I'm stuck with non-numerical footnotes.
Man, I fell into the assumption about PIV "counting" as the definition of "sex" -- or, at least, I'm giving it more importance than it ought to have -- which I don't actually believe in the wider world outside fic. Hello, blind spot.
But I wouldn't have expected it to be tagged that way (I didn't even check the tags; I think maybe I read fic wrong), because that's not what it was about. It was just something that struck me (in, as I said, my apparent blind spot).
