You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I've watched YouTube videos of people playing Five Nights at Freddy's. It's pretty fun watching other people freak out.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

t nods

underage sexual situations where all parties are under the influence

We don't have a canonical for that whole concept, and I can't find other tags to support making one, so I'd say tag for them separately, and then also all together, so we can look at making a canonical.

off screen underage sexual situations that are primarily mentioned in passing

Implied/Referenced Underage Sex is almost certainly what any tag like that would be made synonymous with

implied unintentional voyeurism

Will probably get synned to Accidental voyeurism

age disparity

"Age gap" is the canonical, with sub-tags of: Older Woman/Younger Man
Older Man/Younger Woman
Cross-Generation Relationship
Older Man/Younger Man
Older Woman/Younger Woman

unhealthy levels of interdependency

Hmm...we have codependency and unhealthy relationships. It looks like we could easily make an argument for an "unhealthy codependency" canonical.

This post brought to you by there are things I should be doing, but don't want to , the letter A , and the number 3 .

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I quibble at codependency because I'm a pedant and we keep not using the term correctly (it has a very specific meaning around enabling that is not applicable to the bulk of the times it is used anywhere these days). (And, really, if you're reading in that fandom and you can't figure out that two people who've been on the run from shady government agencies for basically the duration of their respective late childhood and teen years and well into young adulthood, in fact, have an unhealthy and overly-dependent on each other kind of relationship as a result, you probably do not deserve a tag for it.)

(I have issues. I own them.)

I, *cough* am familiar with most of the actual canonical tags because that's how I filter for shit I want to read (AHAHAHAHAHA, BOY HOWDY DO I EVER). Those were more the specific, "hmm, how, exactly, do I want to file these consent issues?" sorts of questions, which is going to boil down to a judgement call that I am totally letting Cass make for me.

Like, basically, by the time I'm done writing something, I'm so numb to the actual content of said story that I find myself saying (to give a specific, pre-AO3 example), "So, this isn't that explicit, so I was thinking PG13?" only to be told, basically, "WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? THIS IS AN NC-17 STORY IF I HAVE EVER READ ONE, HE IS FUCKING A CAR FOR FUCK'S SAKE."

Which is actually exactly why I have beta readers.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Hey, is, to give an example of things being sought out by people I know, say, metal arm fisting a canonical?

DebetEsse - Jan 25, 2015 11:50:23 am PST #9443 of 10434
Woe to the fucking wicked.

It is not. HOWEVER, it appears to meet Ro3 (Rule of 3. Most tags won't be canonized until they are used on 3 different works by different authors), so I will add it to the list.

brillig

Can I petition you to do a wholesale dump of any tag with the variant of "My feeels, I show you them" or "I don't even"?
