Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If you, like maybe me, have at times (but certainly not always) either consumed your fics with a shovel, or sometimes gotten extra excited for a premise you've read a million times, and you know it doesn't even have to be good to work, I present this song: [link]

Someone suggested to me that I might have copied a pose from a Sherlock picture. It's a really rudimentary pose, so I'm wondering--is it a big deal Sherlock picture, or something?

Not that I would copy a pose off another fanartist, and certainly not off a high profile one--I don't have the confidence that I could do well with the comparison.

My assumption is that we all see the same pictures, and why wouldn't two people look at the same photo and use it as the basis for their pic?

Because books.

That just looks like two men kissing to me. I don't think a pose is something you can copyright, officially or not.

That's what leads me to think that either the picture is hugely famous, so you can't touch that pose without bringing it to mind of most Sherlock fans, or the commenter is really anal obsessive.

But she's been really nice--she's not trying to pick a fight or anything. Just...there's leaning, and there's a hand on a face. Not exactly the most obvious brandings.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

The latter, I'd say.

I'm damned curious about the "original", though--if anyone stumbles across something matching the description, please to holler.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Oh fanfic writers, don't you realize that when you put "please don't hate me" as a tag on one of your stories it's a clear indication that I will?

brillig

I hate those tags. "See all my feels! I has them! I don't even!" Speak like a grownup!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

"I suck at summeries. but the story is better. I promise. Its the story of the cast all being in high school together." Riiiiiiiiiiiight.

Always Anti-fascist!

I think that I am pretty bad at creating really exciting summaries(which is why I dread writing a plot synopsis of my original, should I have to) but apologizing underlines that in highlighter, plus it calls attention to you, fanfic writer, in a way that messes up the twin illusions of fanfic. Namely, that your story could really happen, or failing that, that someone who wrote for the show could write it.
