Ah, man--if only I had a reason to set a fic in 80s Britain and have someone flip up some article on top of their TV feed and research the news, or something.
And then everyone would yell NO INTERNET!!! And then I could yell TELETEXT!!!
And we'd laugh, and laugh, and be best friends. It would be great.
It's not as cool as when Amy writes a story related to my fic
Aw! Her story was sweet -- Dean's voice, at least in the beginning, was really dead on.
Thanks Connie! Not only was that story hilarious, it led me to this one that I hadn't read yet: [link]
You rarely go wrong reading sam_storyteller.
Yuletide signups are open! Aaaaaaaah!
Meep! I'm actually signing up this year instead of waiting around to snag a pinch hit.
Signing up would be a bad choice for me, what with school and everything.
This is what I tell myself as I see the posts on lj.
Debet, the past couple of years were bad for me in terms of Stuff Going On, so what I wound up doing was stalking the pinch-hit list once I knew I was in the clear and had time to write. Plus, that way, I could cherry-pick my prompts.
By that point, I'm usually in the Land of Crappy Internet, so I'm never timely in replying to the emails. Still subscribe to the pinch hit list, though.
Could someone throw up a link to the sign-ups? I'm not sure I have it followed on LJ.
