Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

Thrive to spite them

It was really great!

Somewhere I followed a link to a Little House on the Prairie (book version) post zombie apocalypse story but now I can't remember where it was and I didn't finish reading it.

Did someone mention it here or know what I'm talking about?

Thanks I'm not sure how I missed it!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

So, um, I used to write Trek smut. Then I started watching Buffy. And for all the fic-ability of that show, apparently I cannot put out more than 500 words of fanfic unless I have shouted "Oh, come on, I can do better than that!" at the television during a given show. Which means, of course, that for several years I have written precious little. Having been spoiled by the high quality writing of Mutant Enemy, my tolerance for crap tv writing has gone way down.

And then there's The Mentalist, which I stumbled upon and started watching this last season. I only said the magic words once, during one of the early, first-season episodes as I was catching up. But that was enough to do the trick. Sadly I must confess to a certain bias in 'ships - Jane/Lisbon. Here is a "five things" fic, [link] - "Five Red Herrings To Cut Down Mighty Trees: Four Conversations That Never Happened, and One That Might". Aside from that, there are a handful of cute little ficlets, and one monster of an angst-ridden work-in-progress.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Jane/Lisbon? You're a sick woman.

Most of it is just flirty banter. Unhinged is not sexy.

ETA: He bought her a couch. I can't get my boyfriend to buy me a couch and I live with him. That sure as heck wasn't a fatherly gesture.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Hmm. I think I'd have to say he bought her a couch only in the most technical of senses. He upgraded her couch because he likes to lie on the couch and hers wasn't up to snuff.

Anyone have recs for non-slash Criminal Minds fic? I really like Barb's stories (but they're gone from LJ! Are they stashed anywhere else, Barb?), and Madlori's stuff is great, but I'm looking for some good casefic in particular.

Ok, Jane/Leather Couch in the Bullpen is my true Mentalist OTP. I think Jane really just wanted the couch in Lisbon's office to be a lighter color in case she ever gave in to temptation to use his guts for garters - the blood stains would show better.

So I decided Susan Pevensie needed some love--from me, if not from C.S. Lewis: [link]

Because Susan is pretty awesome.
