Thanks! They're really too much. And very, very pretty.

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?
This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

I seem to have fallen rather madly in love with fanon!Damian from the Batfamily. I have been suckered in to buying comics with him in, just to see if canon really matches up in any way. So far, and it's not that far, yes it does.
But fanon!Damian is amazing. He's prickly and homicidal and loves kittens and Colin and is cute as all hell.
I've been a Batfamily fan for a while, but I lapsed for a few years. So it's not like fandom got me whole hog. Still, I was wondering--who out there do you think has the best fanon version, and have you been suckered into watching/reading anything because of a fanon version of a character?
My friend Sarken finally finished her AU where Keith Olbermann met Rachel Maddow during his local-sports days. Part one is [link] So far, it's worth waiting for.
So I'm doing this thing where I'm compiling a list of fic recs for this fangirl I met who doesn't know anything about fic: she does fandom a different way. And I thought I would end with a link to the Yuletide archive, sorted in order of hits.
And the very first story on that list, with 30,000 hits, is Wait, Wait, Don't Eat Me. Woot.
I don't know of this story. Is that a bad woot or a good woot?
That's a very good woot for Dana, who wrote it.
Brains?
Any Game of Thrones fic recs?
So, my last couple attempts at fic have been a Star Trek/Firefly fusion. I thought you guys might get a kick out of them. No Mal, Kaylee, etc. because this happens in the 2250s, not 2517. It's kind of proto-Firefly.
A Cat May Look At a King. (Kirk/McCoy, R, 9.2k) Written for round two at the km_anthology. All Leonard wanted was a hot bath. He got a little bit more than he bargained for when he walked into Kirk's Emporium and Aquardrome looking for one.
A Rose By Any Other Name. (Kirk/McCoy/Gaila, NC-17, 11.6k) Written for trekreversebang 2011. Leonard McCoy doesn't much like the new sheriff of Riverside; he doesn't much like having his bath interrupted, either. Sequel to A Cat May Look at a King.
