So there's an Old Spice Man anon kinkmeme [link] which is lovely and lolarious and entirely as things should be in a just universe.
And a RL friend just linked to the Feminist Hulk + Old Spice Man + Judith Butler entry on FB, and even though he's the sort to take these things in entirely the right spirit, and so is his whole FB circle, there's a small bit of me that's like, "OMG YOU GOT REAL LIFE FACEBOOK PEANUT BUTTER IN MY FICLAND!!!"
The fic that was written for me as part of the spn_summergen exchange was just posted, and I am thrilled to bits. I requested an AU where Deanna Campbell survived the Yellow-Eyed Demon's attack, and the author took that and created a fascinating backstory and inner life for Deanna.
The story is told in brief flashes, but each of those brief bits says so much. Glorious use of imagery, and it doesn't shy away from what it would be like for a strong-minded woman growing up when Deanna did.
Basic Descent
I have apparently found a new fandom.
Carpetbaggers, a Narnia story set just after the Pevensies are crowned.
Fanvid for the HBO show
Game of Thrones
almost a year before it even airs. It is an intro to the actors with the names of the characters they will play. It was done so early that the recasting of several main characters is indicated only by a note rather than changing the picture included.
Aren't fans fun?
I have several Dreamwidth invite codes, if anyone wants one.
So do I. (You got the "You're special, have some codes!" email too, Dana?)
So, how special are you guys?
Dreamwidth sent out "Please, pass out these codes to everyone you know!" emails.
Heck, I think I've still got a couple left from when I first signed on to Dreamwidth. I'll watch my mail for more.
