Jayne: Captain, can you stop her from bein' cheerful, please? Mal: I don't believe there is a power in the 'verse that can stop Kaylee from being cheerful. Sometimes you just wanna duct tape her mouth and dump her in the hold for a month.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Anne, you know me--I was wondering about the Dean/Castiel, and I'd even made peace with it not being there, because I was enjoying myself so much. And, you totally made me laugh out loud.

I love 5 Things fics. Whoohoo!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Fay, that's awesome! Go you!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hey, are you ficcers doing Plei's mundane bingo? I read shrift's card and it made be wonder what everyone else's cards looked like. I am only fic-adjacent, so I rely on all y'all for my reference points.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

That was really good, Anne! I reread it immediately.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Very nice story, Anne!

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Anne, that was great.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Thank you all very much!

Hey, are you ficcers doing Plei's mundane bingo?

I'm playing! One thing I love about the challenge Plei put together is that it recognizes that there's a lot of breadth to "mundane." Some things that are mundane for others are quite unusual for me, and vice versa, so it's going to be interesting to look at some events as "just one of those things."

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Anne, that was lovely!

Thanks, guys - I'm kind of reeling. It's a big achievement for me, and I think it's a pretty good story - it's a nice feeling!

Typo - this is my long-ass story. It's a Merlin/Arthurian legends modern AU, set at St Andrews University (alma mater of Prince William of Wales, and my good self), in which Arthur is still a prince, Merlin is still a wizard-in-training, and history has a habit of repeating itself

Thanks Fay. I found it after asking and stayed up way too late cause I could not stop reading. Question, given the AU nature how close are these characters to the TV show? (Never saw TV show, so I can't judge.) Because this is very well written, stands great on its own as a piece of Arthur and Merlin reincarnated fantasy-romance. Are the characters different enough from the TV show that you could submit this to a publisher? Cause the quality is certainly high enough (assuming a certain amount of editing, though to tell you the truth it is already better edited than a lot of stuff on the shelves.)
