Quite by accident, I found a Highlander/SPN Methos-as-Horseman fic The Book of Enoch yesterday. It's not exactly what I wanted out of the theme, but it scratched the itch. And made me laugh.

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?
This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.
stumbles into the thread for the first time in ages
OMG, Poly Recs has been updated?
PAUL GROSS ARMS!!!!
Ahem.
Actually, I was mostly coming here just because I wanted to boggle at someone, and I thought you might not mind if I boggled at you good people:
I have been writing nonstop for the past 3 weeks, having had a story do that RANDOMTACKLE!EATBRAIN! thing. (It's a Merlin story, a student AU set at St Andrews, which is where Prince William & my good self earned our degrees.) Anyway, I have FINALLY got my protagonists to their first actual honest-to-god snog.
After 90,000 words.

Holy crap. Brevity: not my best thing.
(I'm thinking I might be able to wrap it up in 120k, possibly, but I'm no longer making any bets about length. Initially I had guessed at 30k. hahahaha.)
On an entirely different note - Sail, although I'm not reading in your Kirk/McCoy corner of fandom, I've been just chuffed to bits to see you getting so sucked into writing this past year. It is made of win!
Aw, thank you, Fay. I am having such a great time doing it! And I've met so many lovely people (online so far, but I have hopes for actual meatspace meet-ups at some point in time.) I really should thank the Buffistas, because I never would have thought to do any of this without having all of you around to be examples and offer support. So, thanks!
I haven't read much Mentalist fic, but this, Five Ways Patrick Jane Hasn't Died Yet (And One Way He Never Will) totally got me. Bleak as all hell, obvious character death.
How the hell did I miss a Mentalist story Dira posted? Maybe the premise scared me.
::emerges from month-long zombie state::
Jesus Christ on a pogo stick - I've just written a story that's 152,288 words long. Over five weeks.
That would be a 600 page novel.
::is astounded::
Damn, Fay. I can't imagine ever being able to get that many words out that quickly. I guess you really had a story you wanted to tell!
It was REALLY good! I am sorry it ended.
Oh, my goodness, Fay. That's spectacular. Go you!
Congratulations, Fay!
