I honestly have no idea how and when and why portmanteaus have become so pervasive in fandom. Why, back in the day, we hardly ever abbreviated! And when we did, it was just the first initial! And everyone in that fandom knew what it meant!
Or maybe I should just give in to the trend and go label my last few stories McShep and Spicious and Dusty.
