Well, a gathering is brie, mellow song stylings; shindig, dip, less mellow song stylings, perhaps a large amount of malt beverage, and hootenanny, well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Hungry, hungry bears!

I don't need plot, right?

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

Ugh, I seem to have plot whether I like it or not. Also, research. Also, I am snowed in at a different house than 4/5 of my source material. AUGH.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

You guys have all my sympathy. I just posted my fic for the Kirk/McCoy advent community on LJ. 17,000 words since Nov. 30th. I didn't think I had it in me.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

This is not something I can consume at work, but it is described thusly:

If there's one thing that this year's Star Trek reboot was missing, it was Zachary Quinto reading graphic Kirk/Spock slash. [...]

Thanks to re-editing Quinto's audiobook version of the movie novelization, the internet now has Spork:

I had to make note of it somewhere.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

That worked surprisingly well.

Wow. That was totally traumatic. For some reason, ZQ's voice makes it too much for me to handle.

Very well executed, though. Very well. I can't imagine the amount of attention to detail it took to do that recutting.

LJ user scatter_muse made this beautiful piece of art to go with my fic, First Gain the Victory. Go check it out, and then give her some love.

...someone just left me feedback on an older story of mine, and said that there was "room for improvement."

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

That's ... special?

On AOOO?

Great, now I am going to always mentally pronounce it as "Arooooo??" aren't I?
