Oh, dear, the portmanteau names. Don't tell Vonnie!

I have just discovered that some Lorne/Parrish shippers call it...Porne.

Oh, my. Porne is both a portmanteau and has a pointless extra "e". It lacks only an extraneous apostrophe.

So, I was today informed that this wee crackfic about Sam Winchester reading Where the Wild Things Are to a hypothetical nephew (the offspring of Dean and Cas) is not only not Gen (a perspective which surprised me, but which I can understand) but is, in fact Interspecies Rape MPreg.

Despite containing neither rape nor mpreg.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I don't see that at all, Fay.

Maybe because the mpreg in the earlier piece was kind of dubcon?

Well. Hmm. I don't see the rape. The MPREG is sort of implicit.

But that is kind of overkill, seriously, on the part of some of those folks.

Well, see, that was my initial thought - but the thing is she didn't read THIS story, let alone the preceding MPreg piece. She was basing her assertion on my summary. Which - ooookay.

That is strange and off-putting.

Well, she's right that John Gabriel Winchester IS the result of MPreg - but in the story I linked to, the fact that he has two daddies only crops up at the end, in passing, and the fact that Castiel actually is his other father (rather than a father figure) is only referred to by the mention of John being one of the nephilim. So - yeah. MPreg is tangentially referenced.

Not that she'd know that one way or the other, what with the whole not-reading-the-story thing.

shrugs

It's funny, you know - I mean, I've written plenty of things that ARE shocking and full of bad wrong goings on, so it's just kind of hilarious that something I considered innocuous fluff should merit so much censure.

She's explained that clearly a story involving a child of Dean and Castiel is predicated upon rape - "Even presented as crackfic, it's a distractingly nasty thought, like when a really clever joke involving child abuse or race hatred- just- is not funny because you can't get past the offensive premise."

I can understand someone making an argument that Castiel's vessel needs to be taken into account when writing Castiel/Anyone. Personally, up until quite recently I had assumed (and explicitly stated, in many cases) that Castiel's host was burned out of his skin/died when Dean stabbed him through the heart in 4.01. But I've read other stories where the host is supposed to be lurking along for the ride - and where consent IS explicitly addressed. I don't think you can safely make the assumption that Castiel/Anyone automatically involves Castiel's host being involved in nonconsensual sex.

Quite aside from which - the whole jest of that first story is that Dean's pregnancy is supposed to avert the Apocalypse. That the baby is going to be the Messiah, and that this is why Dean got busted out of Hell.

That, in short, Castiel's vessel (were he along for the ride) is actively Doing God's Work, and that this is exactly what he signed up for.
