'Get It Done'

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Normally requests like that would make me twitchy about choosing but one story came immediately to mind, so I went and listed it. It's not one I casually rec ever but it's That Story.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I wonder if it's the story I'm thinking of.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I nominated Yahtzee's "Goodnight Moon." There are quite a few stories I'd pick over it as my favorites, but I've never run across anything better written.

3 day-old coffee: I don't know if anyone besides me is still eager for good SGA fic, but I recently read "Sheppard's Law" by Cesperanza and was bowled over by it: [link]

Always Anti-fascist!

It's tragic, Consuela, and novel-length, but it really made me see fanfic in a new way. I've always been sad that I've not been able to give the author props for it. (Older archive, before my time)

Anyone who likes epic AU totally angsty and whumpy SPN should know that Oselle finally finished Lazarus Comes Forth. It's an alternative version of how Dean gets out of hell, and it's quite spectacular. She's Oselle on LJ, and the top post should have all the links.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Okay, scrolling through my friends list and looking for fic to read. And I see a post that is apparently part 9 of something, and is itself 142,000 words. Whoa. I'm always on the hunt for long fic, but jesus.

It's not my current fandom obsession, so I don't know yet if I'm going to go back and check out what came ahead. I'm still just a little agog.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I'm fairly confident in saying that almost *nothing* should be that long. I can think of maybe three writers I'd trust with that kind of length.
