Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I did not know this (from the imdb trivia page)

Bernard is inspired by a real bookshop owner in Dublin whom Dylan Moran described as "he looks like he's swallowed a cup of sour milk and peed himself at the same time. He has this green bilious expression, years of displeasure have shaped his face".

I bop to Wittgenstein. -- Nutty

Considering the other characters who have been inspired by real people (The Goon Show's Bluebottle, based on a shop owner; the eponymous 'hero' of Fawlty Towers, to name but two), I wouldn't be surprised if several the great writers of the next century were now hanging out on lj in bad_service.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Yuletide signups are open!

(And, er, Suela, if you come here, I apparently meant that I could use your help in the Buffista Fic thread. I'm looking for a link.)

Dana, I couldn't find where you needed my help? What were you looking for?

(and now I'm going to bed and won't be reading B.org again until probably tomorrow night, sorry!)

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Looking for a story where (whitefonting) Sam Tyler turns out to be a Time Lord in disguise, with the whole watch thing. I know I got there on your rec, and you commented on it, but I don't have the link any more, and Kate P. is looking for it.

Oh, my god, Suela. I'm insane. The conversation was in Boxed Set. I'm sorry for not actually *checking* which thread I was in.

Dana, are you sure? I don't remember reccing that story. I hardly read any DW or any LoM for that matter...

In any event, I would recommend searching Delicious for something tagged DW and crossover; you may find it.

SGA peeps, does anyone know the story behind ltlj's livejournal being deleted?

Huh, no I do not. She's pretty uncomfortable about her high profile in the fandom; has there been a big kerfuffle I don't know about?

I haven't heard rumor of any, but I did notice she posted something about Laura Hale's sensationalist practices WRT FanLib a while before her journal was deleted, and now has a pretty detailed entry on Fanlore that details multiple pseuds she's written under over the years. Maybe that spotlight made her self-conscious about continuing on lj?

If this means the possibility of me reading further Retrograde AU stories in the future has been eliminated, I may owe Hale pain.
