I don't actually want to sign up to write a Slings and Arrows story with Geoffrey and Darren in a musical.
Dana, you so want to write that. You must write that.
This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

I know I want to read it. So someone has to...
Like backstory? Oh hells yes.
I'd have to review canon! I'd have to reacquire canon, then review it, then figure out how to write two TOTALLY INSANE men.
I'd have to review canon!
And you'd *hate* that.
I have too much TV to watch already!
OK, after taking a look around on my lunch break for new fanfiction by a few favorite authors, I found out that one has (1) switched her livejournal to private, (2) placed a visible post ranting about people who were confused by this and dared to ask to be friended or otherwise gain access, and (3) directed them in very talk-down-to-the-morons tone to the blog on her website, which has (4) restricted access links to her recent stories.
Congratulations! You win at making your fiction more difficult to get to than it's worth. Maybe you should consider having it translated into a dead language just in case there's anyone left who might offend your sensibilities by going to the trouble to read it...
Oooh, who?
(Actually, I'm halfway asking because I want to know if I need to update any PolyRecs links.)
Rageprufrock. She writes beautifully, but the combination of multiple obstacles to getting access and the apparent hostility attempts to do so now inspire in the writer would probably put me off even astolat's or synecdochic's stories.
I'm not sure if the same roadblocks apply to old stories that have been posted to her website for a long time. I ran into the access restriction on more recent works that were linked in her weblog on the site.
Man, that sucks. I do like her stuff.
