Simon: I'm trying to put this as delicately as I can... How do I know you won't kill me in my sleep? Mal: You don't know me, son. So let me explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

erika, I've seen the fic you write and you will do more than justice to Sports Night or anything else you decide to (or get asked to) write.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Who else here is offering fic on Sweet Charity? (I am, under my LJ name - sophiap).

I also happen to be offering socks, but that's what thread again? Minearverse?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I waffled and then missed the deadline for this round. Whoops.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Me. Because I'm insane, clearly.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

There are a lot of Buffistas this go round, I think.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Me. Did I say that here already? I can't remember. I'm still quite bemused that I signed up. I'm offering fic, or audiofic, or a thrilling Mystery Package of goodies from Bangkok. I'm signed up as Fayjay. I don't know what I was thinking, since I'm like the Scarlet Pimpernel of fandom and precious few people know me from Adam - still, it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Audiofic?! Read by Fay? Doooood.

Woman, I am still mimicking your reading of The Wolves in the Walls with the short people. It's way more fun than my own. Now that they've heard it, their eyes just sparkle with antici-PAtion when we approach the LOUD!! part of the book.

Your fic is wonderful, don't get me wrong. But audiofic by Fay? Awesome talent to offer, really.

Hee! Yes, the LOUD! bit is always hilarious, especially when they know it's coming. Gaiman rocks. That book is the only one that I've had audiences of kids break into spontaneous applause at the end, several times now. And I've read it to 5 year olds through to 11 year olds, and they've ALL loved it! It is made of awesome! (Man, how much do I want to see the Opera/Musical thingy?)

They've been overheard to moan, "It's ALL OVER!" when things don't go their way. Yes! I'd love to see it too.

Anyway, is there a "Bid for Fayjay!" thing where I can go to extoll your virtues as a reader? Not--that you don't have other virtues, because of course you do. And vices as well, nice, lovely, porny vices, and civilized and genteel-ly funny vices. And virtues, um. So, is there? Because I will.

Bless you! You know, I have no idea. I'm pretty bloody clueless about how all this works. But thank you for the offer! (I'm very much enjoying making audiofic, although I somewhat repine for the rather more professional setup with my parents actual Mac; my MacBook makes a bit of a whirring noise, and is more liable to get suddenly pounced on by the cat. (Who is, in fact, fond of lurking behind the screen, with head poking out of one side and feet out of the other. Although at the moment he's playing some crazy cat game of peekaboo, where he springs out from behing the screen and tags my hand while I type. He isn't very good at being sneaky, as it turns out, but he's VERY funny. And when I retaliated he pretty much levitated in shock at being tagged by the hand that types!!!)
