Hey, preaching to the choir. I thought our Lady of the Perpetual Sea Breeze was the real deal until the Divine Miss J walked right through that door and right into my ass—which is where my heart is…physiologically. I could show you an x-ray.

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I've just started picking Angel Sanctuary, Blade of the Immortal, Ceres, Fruits Basket, Get Backers, X/1999...

Sweet! Get Backers is the only one of those I'm not familiar with. I'm currently writing some stuff for Fruits Basket and X/1999. Before you get much further in X/1999, you might want to check out Tokyo Babylon, since that sets up a lot of stuff for one of the big X/1999 arcs.

You'd also like Trigun, I think.

Ooh, new thread.

Topic, you say? Em... I like pretty boys?

I like the title of the new thread, BTW. I've gotten that particular comment many, many times on a number of my one-shots.

Butting in, we both finished the anime of Yami no Matsuei.

I'm impatiently waiting for more of the manga, because I just did not get enough Tatsumi in the anime. And I can savor the Tsuzuki angst all over again!

She's also seen some Prince of Tennis, which Halrloprillalar has me intensely curious about

I started with the manga 'cause I wanted to know what was making Hal so happy, and it was good. And then Hal asked me if I wanted to some candy little girl, and of course I did I said. I've watched the first 40 episodes or so, and I am pretty much OMG IN LOVE with the boys. Especially Kaidoh. And Inui. And Fuji, the sadist. And Tezuka, the stoic and pretty. And Eiji and Oishi are so! very! married!

Ahem. Where was I?

and Micole is pimping about six other series left and right. I forget what else she's hooked you on, shrift. Saiyuki? X?

She's relentless and I fear her.

I'm impatiently waiting for more Saiyuki, too, for I need more Sanzo. Mm, Sanzo. She's also told me to watch X/1999 which I haven't done yet. But I'm sure I will.

Get Backers is the only one of those I'm not familiar with.

I'm a little ambivalent on it still. I've just read a few volumes of manga, and I'll probably watch some episodes before I decide whether I like Ban and Ginji enough to keep it.

I'm currently writing some stuff for Fruits Basket and X/1999.

Sweet! This means I need to get more Fruits Basket. Darn.

Before you get much further in X/1999, you might want to check out Tokyo Babylon, since that sets up a lot of stuff for one of the big X/1999 arcs.

Thanks. I didn't know which one came first. I'm just sort of bumbling around out here without a map sometimes.

You'd also like Trigun, I think.

And no doubt I'll be adding that to the queue.

The previous thread goes back to 2002. I skimmed it the other day, and it felt like I was looking at an archeological dig. Time moves swiftly on the Internets.

brillig

I've gotten that particular comment many, many times on a number of my one-shots.

"Um, I killed the main characters, I can't do a sequel." "You can bring them back!" "Which negates all the angst and nobility and emotion everyone loves." "But I really like this story."

I suffer from "But what happens next?" syndrome as much as the next person, but sometimes the story's just done, folks.

If I only had a brain...

How do people who write outside the Buffyverse refer to being Jossed?

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

It gets a fair amount of pan-fandom usage.
