Fanfic is for the win!
Meanwhile, in tangentially fanfic-related news, I'm reading Cassandra Clare's book
City of Bones
at the minute. It's really very good (which just goes to show that there really was never any need to be copying out passages of Pamela Dean, but whatever, blah blah blah, old news). Anyway, yes, this bit made me choke on my bottled water:
Kneeling down, she tugged [the bag] out from under the bed by its olive-green strap. It was covered with buttons, most of which Simon had given her. GAMERS DO IT BETTER. OTAKU WENCH. STILL NOT KING.
Made my head go boom.

For anyone who's going to want to hide from electoral politics over the next ten months, I've re-started a fic community.
New name, same old squee and monsters:

Dana, I quite liked Fairytale of LA.
Thanks!
t wishes there were new Life episodes, sigh
Dana, I haven't seen the last two eps that aired. Can I read your Life story without being spoiled for them?
Hee. It's about 200 words. It's barely a story. But yeah, no spoilers for anything other than the fact that Crews is exasperating.
Also, OMG, you need to see those episodes.
YAY!
I really do. My recording of the one just before that got messed up, but last night I finally watched it on the NBC site, so now I can watch the others.
I just had a dream that an entire fanfic community existed around a story I wrote in Junior High. I was horrified because it was an embarassingly bad story and there were all these people...you people! Demanding that I write more. But then Daniel Craig appeared and told me that everyone knows you should never listen to your critics but you should especially never listen to your fans.
No more tomato, avocado and onion salad before bed!
