Good thing you got your shopping done.
I'm leaving on a train tomorrow at 3! I shouldn't even be entertaining this idea! But, you know, I could stay up late...
See, I don't know any of that crazy manga stuff.
Yeah, there's one I really could do, but I don't think I'm going to offer because I wrote it last year and it would involve
way
more work and research than I have time for. I think I'm going to offer on something I already have a solid idea for, so at least I'm not that crazy?
I vote for nothing that requires research.
I offered on one. I'm peering at the others and deleting anything that would require research or make me go "ugh" when I think about actually writing them. I'm down to 8.
I was going to offer on a third, but I checked the source material, and realized the requester was requesting a book, but requesting details that are only in the movie version. And they're different enough (and specific enough) that the actual source was not going to be source-y enough for me to consult!
Debating on whether to offer for another while waiting. With my luck, I'd get assigned both, so. Hmm.
My original false Yuletide assignment is now available as a pinch hit. I already have a pinch hit, so I'm not offering. But maybe I will do a stocking stuffer. Just 'cause.
Ahahahahah OH GOD, okay, I have a pinch hit. What was I thinking?
No, no, okay, I can totally do this. I already have the story planned out. I just have to sit down start typing as soon as I get home, that's all.
I have two possible stocking stuffers earmarked. Just in case I feel like torturing myself some more.
Right now, I'm just trying to decide if the two dropped words are worth an email with "should be Blah blah AND blah" in it.
The good news is that my would-have-been beta readers gave me a sanity check read after posting (which is how the dropped words got noticed) and they all liked it and thought it worked.
It's... not my usual style at all. At all at all.
I managed to completely forget about writing my yuletide story, and wrote it the day of, eleven hours before it was due, in an hour, and subsequently posted it.
I do not recommend such methods to others. Seriously, brain = explody.
