Kaylee: So how many fell madly in love with you and wanted to take you away from all this? Inara: Just the one. I think I'm slipping.

'Serenity'

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Wow, you're right. There is not a single mention of anyone living in a basement. And she got the definition of slash right.

(Though they have Naomi Novik writing fanfiction "as a teen", when she's mentioned in other interviews and the like that she still writes fan fiction.)

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I've seen the teen thing re Novik in other places as well -- I suspect it's in some bio somewhere, since she wasn't directly quoted in this article.

eta: I also loved, loved, loved Patrick Neilsen Hayden's quote about "I don't spend a lot of time on fic sites, but if I had more free time..."

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Debra and her husband are longtime and dear friends of mine, so it was extra-special to open the Living section of the Globe yesterday and see her face beaming at me!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I feel like I woke up in bizarro world!

Huh.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I vote Y, because it won't be me having to go to any trouble.

As part of my secret ambition to be the little devil on somebody's shoulder, I say "yes!111!"

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

So the yuletide assignments went out. Then the "Wait, IGNORE THOSE ASSIGNMENTS" e-mail went out.

Who else is sitting here, wondering if they'll have the same assignment the second time around?
