Right, there comes a point where you have to either move on, or just buy yourself a Klingon costume and go with it.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Oh, man. SA, I -- I think it's brilliant, but you know, I just can't take McKay/Sheppard that seriously. It's all angsty and pining, and I just want to giggle.

Hee, I know. I know! I haven't read McShep in ages, like seriously months. It's the same reason I haven't been reading SPN fic either--I'm just not in angstorama mood. But NKF is really astonishingly talented, and I was reccing the vid more for its creativity and brilliance in new media than on the McSheppiness of it. Though I still heart John Sheppard like pie.

thefourthvine did some vid recs yesterday, or the day before, and one of them was "Enormous Penis," this LKBV for Farscape--omg I was braying with laughter. Hi-larious!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

but if I've decided that someone is actually a flaming nutcase, is it appropriate to not reply to her?

DNFTEC - Do Not Feed The Energy Creature is most of the time a good policy, after polite interaction has firmly disclosed the energy-creaturiousness.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Hey, I know that I'm all about engaging in public discourse, but if I've decided that someone is actually a flaming nutcase, is it appropriate to not reply to her?
Yes.

Also? Hell, yes.

For reasons that Theo states well.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Can I change my vote to an unequivocal yes?

It's in triplicate. Be sure to sign in blood. And don't mind the perpetuity clause. Oh, and we'll be be needing your soul now.

...wasn't using it anyway.

There are times when it behooves one to speak up when two Energy Creatures are going at it and non-ECs are caught in the blowback. Sometimes the best you can hope for is to derail the discussion and draw it back to saner tracks the hard way.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Eh, I've had my say. Not replying to her.

And, in better news: fic rec! The Next Town by Kres. Smart and eerie and cool. Great imagery.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Oooh! Loved the SGA fic, loved the SPN fic and loved the vid.

I mean, yeah, I agree it doesn't have any great emotional whammy, because Atlantis is, you know - Atlantis. But it was stunning. (My God, if it had been Clark/Lex, or a Jossverse relationship it would have killed me. But McShep...yeah. Bless. I heart SGA, but not in an angsty way. More in a Big Gay Penguins way. Mostly.)

Meanwhile, anybody able to point me to good PotC fic? Particularly the surely-inevitable Sparrow/Beckett backstory, or what-Elizabeth-did-next stuff, or Norrington-haunts-the-Dutchman, or Davey Jones/Calypso or...actually, anything, really. Something nice and chewy. Because otherwise I'm going to end up writing it.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Penknife is writing brilliant (as usual) PoTC fic.
