Well, a gathering is brie, mellow song stylings; shindig, dip, less mellow song stylings, perhaps a large amount of malt beverage, and hootenanny, well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny.

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I'm ashamed to admit this, but I still haven't read Half-Blood Prince. (hangs head in shame....) Can I read Invisible to See without being spoiled for Half-Blood Prince?
You and me, both.

Someone I don't know, and once I hit her site, I discovered why. Not bad, just a committed Jack/Sam shipper. With babies. ::sigh::
Ouch. It's like ... a whole different fandom, really. I mean I have shipped them a little at times but it's not where my attention really was focused.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Can I read Invisible to See without being spoiled for Half-Blood Prince?

Oh, definitely. I wrote it before Order of the Phoenix came out, or at least I started it then. It only cleaves to canon for the first four books, posits events for their fifth year and is set in their sixth year. So nowadays it counts as an AU, really, but at the time of writing it was just near-future fic. If that makes sense?

It's here in chapter format, or here if you prefer it all in one go.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Ouch. It's like ... a whole different fandom, really.

It really is! Let us not forget what the BNF venn hath taught us: [link]

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Somebody needs to write The Office cast with the Stargate characters, particularly Sam and Jack as Pam and Jim, and Rodney as Dwight. Beau Bridges could carry off the Michael Scott role so easily.

Don't look at me, as I'm not going to write it. But it would be fun....

I think that would make Sheppard be Angela in accounting, and that just made my head explode.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I'll manage. I suppose I should be happy I didn't get Katie or Syn or IvoryGates, because I wouldn't have a fucking idea what to do with any of them. *grin*

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Isn't Michael's primary trait that he's a socially retarded blowhard? Landry's not necessarily the first character that springs to mind...

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Panic is an integral part of a fan fiction challenge.

Some would say it's the intergral part.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

Fay -- The chapter link you provided (post 3767) doesn't work, but I can access your story in all its HP glory with the second link. I'm currently working on a few cover letters (damn it, I hate job hunting, and I really resent it when real life intrudes on my much more satisfying inner life), but as soon as I can I'll dive in. I recently finished reading the Salvation/Month of Open Doors AU by Maygra and Eighth Horizon, so I've been at loose ends and looking for something new to wrap my imagination around.
