Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

There are a lot of really kick-ass baseball-centric SPN stories. Possibly more than there are really kick-ass baseball-centric SN stories, which is just wrong.

I think I need to add a baseball tag to my del.icio.us recs.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

This is two drabbles that are Differences of Opinion beween Sam and Dean about Serenity.

"So... someone else named a whole bunch of spaceships after a bug."

"Dean-"

"Unless they named them after the hatchback? Maybe the spaceship was made by Pontiac. Only in the future, you know, when cowboys roam outer space."

brillig

"Your car is named after an antelope"

"Don't go there, Sam"

Those were funny.

"Do you want to walk to Florida, Sam? 'Coz in a minute I'm gonna kick your spaceship bug-loving ass out of my antelope."

Yeah, I enjoyed them. I don't always like drabbles, because I never really was a short-story kind of gal myself, but every now and then they hit just right.

Plei, I just followed the Winsisterfic link you posted in the Boxed Set thread, and I noticed that a lot of the stories posted there are of the NC-17/adult variety. If I remember correctly from the Great Cilantro Debate of Ought Seven, you came down on the negative side, right? But you don't mind reading it when one of the characters has done the gender-switching thing? Or am I completely misunderstanding because it's late here and I went to a Career Fair today and had to be nice and freaking professional to too damned many people for too damned long? (Or am I just assuming too much, and you only read the Gen stories?)

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

"A cute, furry, small, cud-chewing antelope."
"Preyed upon by everything in the African savannah."
I should not be allowed to read anything at midnight that leads to me imagining the (butch!) Metallicar morphing into a sproingy impala, veering off the asphalt and bouncing off into the scenery.

But I am glad I did.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

But you don't mind reading it when one of the characters has done the gender-switching thing?

With certain writers, genderswapping changes the nature of the relationship, and thus the relationship itself. That can change a squick level pretty quick. Like, for me, it actually makes it less, mm, readable for me if one of the Winchesters is female. Though not if they're both female. That was something I never expected to learn, but Supernatural fandom, oh how it can surprise you.

I think I need this tattooed somewhere.

*nods*

I've read things here that I never expected to read.
