You got all kinds of learnin' and you made me look the fool without tryin', and yet here I am with a gun to your head. That's 'cause I got people with me. People who trust each other, who do for each other, and ain't always lookin' for the advantage.

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Oh, we've all recced Six of One. I like when glee takes over for a story. And Nutty's so deserves our love. That story is just lovely and perfect and dense. I want t pet it and then tear it apart to understand it's parts better.

And, yes, fandom went kerplooey.

It's a thing. A thing that sucks, but still a thing.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Makes me all the happier I've been distracted for the last month with my iPod, dude. (I can watch VIDS on this thing!)

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Fandom went kerplooey while I was traveling, which makes it even more irritating. Now I'm unemployed, I could totally have got in on that flamewar (or a hundred others)!

So, it was a nice gift to come home and find Minxy's rec basicallly the first thing on my flist. Much better than flamewars.

Dude, that's why I mentioned it. It was one hell of a rec. And from what I understand, every bit of deserving for it.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Yup. Minxy's a great pimp, and I told her she needed to read it as soon as she had the canon background.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

WHY did SGA fandom go boom?

(SA, I so share the iPod love. Lovelovelove. Such a good thing, with the vid capability. The thought of vid capability was the only thing that made me get the iPod, actually...but regardless of vids, it is My Very Favourite Possession. And coincidentally I've been listening to one of your playlists LOTS this week, lots lots lots. )

Fay, it starts here, and then continued here. It resulted in one absolutely stunning episode of guacamole in the face, without the attendant pleasures we might find in such a thing here.

(Fay, I'm glad you like them! I'm having problems converting the vids I really like and want to hang on to, because I haven't found a good convertor yet. But I look forward to one day having all the vids I love a click-wheel away.

PS I hope you like the music I stuck on there! I can't even remember what I put on.)

and coffee-jittery follow up:

Man, if I ever need a kick I just scroll through fandom_wank. I love crazy people. From a distance. With a filter and possibly a flamethrower.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Heh, the story was pretty good. I enjoyed it a lot and I don't know SGA at all. Kinda sad to see a well-written story get lost under the brouhaha.

brillig

The only reason I watch SGA at all is to inform my fic reading. The characters generally annoy me with their cardboardness, but the fic is always fun. Ronon is very cute, though.
