Yeah, but you're an amateur fry cook and I come from a long line of fry cooks that don't live past 25.

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

Another Yuletide Rec:

Make You Own Kind of Music (Beautiful Thing) [link]

This makes me want to run out and buy the movie and watch it over and over.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I've been posting some stuff over on avatarfic, and have found a few good things there as well.

I'll have to check it out, Anne!

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Man, Yuletide has got all kinds of fic I wouldn't even have thought to look for! I found a Zenna Henderson "People" fic. And it was very, very good. Oh, how I've missed new People stories. So good to find one and so well done, too.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Since work is most likely going to be dead dead dead tomorrow, I may be able to relax my rule about no-fic-at-work and catch up on some of these excellent recs.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Now, I *was* a little aghast that The Office US turned out to qualify, since it's quite a healthy-sized new fandom with its own newsletter and fanfic archive and so forth. I suppose it's not in the collective fannish radar yet. Not that I'm complaining, because the stories posted are lovely.

I was quite pleasantly surprised too. Good stuff all around.

There's just so much to read. And then you come across a story that is just everything you wanted from the text and more, and it's like a gift just for you. Well, you and all of fandom.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

There's a fun one to BNL's One week, though I don't have a link handy.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

askye, Barkley did a good one to "November Rain" by Guns & Roses. There is loving dissection of the Dean whales the everliving tar out of his beloved Impala sequence in that one.

She also did one with Rod Stewart as the music, uhhh, "Seems Like a Long Time"? But I am not currently in the headspace that can admit Rod Stewart into the pantheon of viddable musicians, so I like to pretend that one doesn't exist.

I'll have to look up those vids. There were some SPN on this year's Vividcon dvd set, that I skipped over just because I didn't know enough about the show.

I was watching the dvds last night on my computer (I had hockey on tv) and it was so much crisper and clearer than when it's on CW. I think it's partly my tv, but if there's ever a show that just cries out to be on High Def it's Supernatural.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

askye, how far in are you? Because I have some vid recs, but they depend on being pretty much caught up.
