I got 3 requests of things I've hardly even heard of, and then the 4th (the optional one) was something right up my alley. So, as these thigns go, pretty good luck.
Now I just have to write the durned thing.

Hey, I'm just saying that I think I did enough freaking out for both of us last year. I think the freaking out shall be reserved for the three people we know who signed up to play this year for the first time.
Replying!
I got my assignment, and as usual there's only one out of the four I can write; but I'm okay with the request. It's definitely something I can do.
I missed the signup for JBBS. But I'm just going to do Yulteide and DWNOGA this year. It's easier on the nerves, especially with travelling.
Okay, am I the ONLY signee who did NOT yet get the Yuletide assignment?
Everyone's going, "Huh." and I'm still sitting here hitting refresh.
I am in the peculiar postion of having just-- literally just, it was for a Halloween challenge-- written a story for not merely the Yuletide fandom, but the pairing which is the only one of three requests I even know the canon for. It's tacky to regift, but...
Also scratching my head that the story of shalott's that won Best Drama Story: Slash is what I think of as one of her least capably-written stories.
Oooh, which one was it? I was just deleting things from my laptop this morning and got sucked into rereading No Refunds Or Exchanges for the gazillionth time. That, and Life in a Bottle, are two of my very favourite SGA stories.
Mind you, I'm very fond of pretty much all the Harlequinn challenge stories I've happened across. Fabulous stuff.
I think Carson's kinda hot.
That's because Carson is kinda hot. And very fabulous. And, damn, that's a bloody impressive Scottish accent. I mean, I know he was born in Scotland, but he's very much not Scottish, is he? Presumably he has lots of relatives who are, though, because - yeah. V. good.
His parents are Scottish, and if I recall correctly, he says in an interview that his brother lives in Scotland, so he has a lot to draw from. Interestingly a lot of fandom winces at the accent, calling it poor. I thought it was pretty accomplished, myself.
I'm just waiting for some clueless fan to start complaining that the actors on Torchwood have weirdly un-English accents....
Ha! I'm sure it's coming.
It took years for my eyes to stop rolling after fans criticized Glenn Quinn's "fake" Irish accent.
Oooh, which one was it?
"A Beautiful Lifetime Event." Usually her stories bring the emotional truth no matter if the plot is realistic or cracktastic, but the characters bore no resemblance to themselves in that one, and the ridiculous convolutions of story made Three's Company episodes look plausible by comparison.
