Yes. Men like sports. Men watch the action movie, they eat of the beef, and enjoy to look at the bosoms. A thousand years of avenging our wrongs and that's all you've learned?

Fan Fiction II: Great story! Where's the sequel?

This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Lessee. I didn't stick with Lost for very long because I didn't like it, but I managed to collect a few scattered fics. Because I do that kind of thing.

You can't have confidence without the C-O-N, Lost/Ocean's 11 xover.

Making Do, Jack/Boone, and this is probably my favorite fic I've read out of the few that have come across my desk. It hits my gay in certain situations thing.

Reparation, Sawyer/Sayid, a pairing of true hotness, there.

Now, in a perfect world, everyone would make the subject titles for fic on LJ something like FIC: Title by Author [Fandom, Pairing/Of Hotness, Rating, 1/1000000] for my organization. But they don't, which is why I suspect I have one or two more lurking in my memories that I can't find. Shrift wrote one (or more?) that are (of course) worth checking out. Especially in the Sawyer/Sayid family.

Talk about surreal crossovers: House/Xena, The Hunting of the Snark.

If I only had a brain...

Oh, the happy hee. There is a Breadbox Summary of SG-1 Avalon. [link]

[MITCHELL JOGS THROUGH THE DOOR INTO THE GATE ROOM, WHERE LANDRY IS ALREADY WAITING. KLAXONS ARE BLARING, AND A FULL CONTINGENT OF SECURITY IS ALREADY STANDING BY. LANDRY TELLS HIM THAT SG-12 SHOULD BE ARRIVING ANY MINUTE, AND HE WANTED MITCHELL THERE. VALA, ACCOMPANIED BY SG-12, WALKS THROUGH THE GATE.]

VALA FANS: Squee!

FARSCAPE FANS: Double squee! With vomit and helium farts!

REST OF THE AUDIENCE: [moves chairs away from the Farscape fans]

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

WHERE LANDRY IS ALREADY WAITING

I read that as laundry and wondered what evil the dirt had gotten up to to be banned from the planet. Albeit, it's a chore on my list for today and while sending out to have it done is one thing, abolishing it is another.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

[MITCHELL IS STUDYING THE STARGATE WITH INTEREST. HE REACHES DOWN TO TOUCH THE RING.]

AUDIENCE: He's totally feeling the gate up, isn't he?

SGC STARGATE: [humming "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman"]

Did anyone watching the season premiere NOT think something along these lines?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Betsy, where's the Breadbox Summary link supposed to go? It just takes me to the post above yours.

Clumsy paste, ita. Sorry.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Here I was, searching for entertainment before it's time to leave for the airport, and after nearly a month in between chapters, Crazy Nikita Writer posts. It's like she's writing just for me.

If the barbarians were invading everyone’s lives, then so be it – Nikita was not here to affect the world, just influence it with her own personal style.

Remember how Roy Dupuis was in (for five minutes) this movie called "The Barbarian Invasions"? Yeah.

Ah my friends, sometimes the Barbarians are not strangers but close relations whose only purpose is to f**k with us.

...yeah.

She was well aware of her previous lives, even before Simone had made her appearance. She was in total understanding that what she was experiencing was something that had also transpired in other times she had traveled through before. And although all the personalities who had revealed themselves to her at this point in time seemed foreign to her; she was sure that pretty soon her raison d'etre would unfold before her.

"Dude, I don't need your stupid plot device to make me aware of my previous lives."

Nikita was conscious that she had loved before with an intensity that made mere mortals weep.

Must have been that story where she was Aphrodite, and she and Ares (Michael) invented the orgasm.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Hmmm.... how can you "influence the world" without "affecting" it? It's like one of those Sufi conundrums, truly.

She was in total understanding

I'm glad someone is, because I have no idea what's going on in that paragraph.
