Angel: I appreciate you guys looking out for Connor all summer. It's just—he's confused. He needs time. That's all. Fred: Right. Time, and some corporal punishment with a large heavy mallet. Not that I'm bitter.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

HP is not one of the more popular vidding fandoms, from what I've seen. I've seen a couple here and there at cons, but they're generally pretty lightweight. shrift, anything come to your mind?

Thank you. I need to learn how to make them.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Or you find a vidder and torment them until they cave to your brilliant idea.

Not that I would ever consider doing that.

I did a quick spin around fandom, but didn't come up with much beyond:

I have absolutely no idea what quality of vids these are, be forewarned.

Although it does provide more proof for the There Are Vids to Evanescence Songs In Every Fandom theory.

Hey. New board.

Evanescence does seem to be remarkably viddable.

shrift, thanks. I was on there last night. There was what looked like a really cute Ron/Hermione to "Accidentaly in Love" but the quality was shit.

Sorry I could be more help, Aimee. I've only seen a handful of HP vids in all the vidshows I've attended. The fandom skews young, and that would mean less vidders with talent born of experience and access to the expensive equipment necessary to make vids that aren't crap.

Evanescence does seem to be remarkably viddable.

For me, I think part of the problem with vidding to Evanescence is that the group does seem to have such a broad appeal and scope that you can vid any fandom to it, but since their songs can be so broadly applied, it often doesn't inspire interesting creative choices.

Hey. New board.

Oh, I'm not saying that I think the vids are usually great, though I honestly suspect I could watch a clock ticking to "My Immortal" and be happy. I was just saying that I've noticed a lot of them out there, and I barely pay attention to vidding at all.

What equipment do you need to make vids that aren't crap? I think I could do just about everything I've seen in a vid (except the being creative part) using my computer and Final Cut Express as long as I'm working from DVDs, but I guess those probably qualify as expensive.

I've been to a lot of vid shows, so the thought of sitting through another vid to "My Immortal" or "Bring Me To Life" makes me twitch, but I'm certain this is a case of Your Evanescence Exposure May Vary.

I'm not a vidder, so I'm not the best person to ask. Computers, software, peripherals, and source can get pricey. For example, Adobe Premiere runs about $500 and the better video capture cards can go for several hundred dollars.
