Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

If I only had a brain...

I've seen good Roslin/Starbuck. Both of them are pretty pragmatic about some things.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

OMG, y'all can't see the Roslin/Starbuck? It's TOTALLY there. Not as intense as the Roslin/Apollo, but still pretty damn smokin'.

AFAIK Jenny O is writing femmecentric BSG fic, and it's some of her best stuff to date, imho.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

If it helps, I barely ever see non-canon pairings, no matter how hot they are.

No Roslin/Adama? Or have I just not seen enough BSG to get how totally not there that is?

Rheanna has some Roslin/Adama in her Five Things story, I know. (I don't read much BSG; I'd think there'd be some more out there.)

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Rheanna put in a dash of Roslin/Adama in her fabulous Five Deaths (Laura Roslin), and I liked that pairing a lot in that story. I suppose Adama-centric fic in which he's involved in a relationship are few and far between, because he's not what you'd call pretty. If he had a sort of face that'd appeal to collective fannish aesthetics, there would have been loads of fic--he's a wonderful character. And Adama/Tigh certainly has no lack of subtexts.

HA! X-posty Rheanna rec!

No, but he is what I'd call gorgeous. It's the craggy, world-weary, "my god, that man needs a good hug" look. But I'm odd like that.

I could buy Sharon/Adama fic, pre-shooting.

Thrive to spite them

I've taken a look at the crack van recs for Starsky and Hutch...is there any writers I should focus on?

I'm with you, connie. I wouldn't call Roslin pretty either, but I think they're both charismatic and compelling in their own ways. Which is to say, I'd totally do Adama.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think Roslin is pretty, but mostly I'm now wondering about Six/Six, or even SixSixSix.

Why the hell not? They're very pretty.
