I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Atlantis took a while to build, though. Smallville exploded immediately.

True. Atlantis didn't become The Next Big Slash Fandom until Shalott discovered it, I think. And she brought ALL her friends. Heh.

Thrive to spite them

Smallville had such a huge build up, there were people writing fic almost before it premiered. THere was a lot of anticipation.

I think people were a little more wary of SGA.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Well, plus McKay and Sheppard had no history of interaction up to that point (and Sheppard no history at all), so people didn't know in advance there was a gold mine waiting to be tapped. I think the combo of Michael Rosenbaum and all of Welling's Matthew Shepardesque promos let the cat out of the bag before the Smallville debut.

Heh. Do you think the actors know that Sheppard and McKay are the new Dave & Maddy? Clearly the characters still haven't realized it yet.

If that were the case, once they had sex all the chemistry would be gone and no one would watch the show anymore, right?

I, for one, think the writers should take the risk.

Oh stop. I'm getting all weepy with the nostalgia.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Teddy is the sexy seafood dude from the first episode.

And he was in Harold and Kumar go to White Castle.

The great fic challenge requirements list, take 2. Leather, warts, black cats, and a single orange balloon? Oy.
