Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So they didn't get the memo that they were supposed to teach gym?

I'm missing the joke. I hate it when I miss the joke. Please to explain?

It's something along the lines of, "Those who can't do, teach. Those who can't teach, teach gym." I think?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

There's got to be some commercial label you can buy in a store, print on, and cut out. Got to!

The advantage these have over the commercial labels I'm familiar with is that they come off cleanly. Also, they're slick. To the touch, I mean.

For some reason I have a hard time imagining a whole hand bruise.

See, I was there, getting slapped repeatedly ON MY INNER THIGH (I'm never having sex again, am I?) and it didn't occur to me that I'd end up with that clear forensic evidence in broken blood vessels.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

When the water pressure at the sewerage & Water Board is low, that's bad.

When I am the only person answering phones in the building when that happens, really bad. Because I don't know anything. Seriously. Not a thing.

brillig

Mmmm, company-paid-for lunch. They got Italian from Fazoli's (a fast-food Italian place, for those unfamiliar). The last time I was there it was a disappointment, but the fettucini Alfredo actually has flavor, and you can taste garlic in the lasagna. I'm impressed.

What is even happening?

It's something along the lines of, "Those who can't do, teach. Those who can't teach, teach gym." I think?

Almost. The old saw is "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach." The add on to that is, "And those who can't teach, teach gym."

Suh-weet, msbelle! Thanks -- they are even civilised enough to sell 3G skins, so my order's larger than it would have been at iPodstyle. That'll larn 'em.

You know, merchandising for movies, etc, should get into removable iPod skins. I'd love a Batman Begins set.

Oooooh. iPod skins for Tim Burton movies. Why yes, I want a Corpse Bride set.

move out and draw fire

Just thought I should warn you all that the world's about to end. The Commonwealth of Virginia (and you thought it was a state) just refunded some money to us that they'd erroneously charged us for taxes.

They taxed us three times for our car, and then put an overdue charge on for good measure. We'd paid the second, because all our financial records were on a ship between the US and Greece, but when we got the third bill, with the overdue charge, we called. They said, "Um, we don't know what that bill is for. Just something you owe." We said, "Straighten it out." They said, "Oh, I don't know...you'll have to call back." That was 7 days ago. Today, without calling back, we got the refund check.
