My step-mother has been cleaning out the ancestral homestead and sending me some of my dad's stuff and whatever of my stuff is there. She just sent one of the two big papers I wrote senior year in college. It kicked ass! Unfortunately, it was not my senior thesis, which sucked. So here, 15 years later, I just realized I should've majored in something else.
Not the same as going to the wrong school, but still.
Huh. According to that list, the Sultan of Brunei's really dropped off the charts.

That's a whole different story, though.
I have my senior thesis, and am terrified to read it. I'm sure it's pretty bad. But I still think I had the right major -- I was just lazy!

Dang. Back to the drawing board for me.
today=hot and sticky.
today's work goal, add in address names & greeting to all entries on database.
When I complete that, I will award myself with a slurpee.
Just yesterday I was musing about what would've happened if I had majored in math (although that would have required different decisions about five years before the major point). I'm tempted to say I should have, but it's been a very long time with a lot of curves in the road since then, so who knows? Maybe if I'd majored in math, I'd find myself now cursing that decision as I worked toward certification to teach English.
Also, I wanted to check in to say that my brother went dancing Saturday night in Indonesia, and they were playing, as he put it, "that recent Milkshake song."
My milkshake brings all the boys to Southeast Asia,
And they're like, it's better than North America,
Damn right, it's better than North America...
know what I love? when someone takes care of a task for me. I have been trying to reach someone about a credit card donation to us (made on a card we do not take) - they don't have an answering machine, so all my attempts to reach them have been fruitless. Today, he calls - he will send in a check. RAWK. task done.
Hee. Brooke Shields strikes back:
Not only did Shields call Cruise's Scientology-inspired anti-drug comments "irresponsible" and "dangerous," she also told People magazine that Cruise should "stick to saving the world from aliens." But then she made a peace offering -- well, sort of. "If he wants to see [the musical] "Chicago" [in which she's starring in London], I've left him two tickets -- one adult, one child":
That's AWESOME. I like Brooke so much more all of a sudden.
aliens - hee.
"stick to saving the world from aliens."
That's perfect. It's a jab at Scientology without being a jab at Scientology.
