I just sent in my "off sick" email, and will go back to bed cautiously until it's late enough for me to be able to call the prescribing doctor and get off these meds. At least I'm not scheduled to teach until 8:45pm.

Sorry about the back, sumi. I'm sitting here with a pulled muscle and an assload of stress-induced back pain, and I'm thanking the gods that it's not as bad as weeks of spasms. Yick, and my sympathies.

Yeah, you think? I've been talking to a lot of accepted students this spring, and I feel bad when I do it, but I have definitely suggested to people this might not be the place for them. Anyone who says more than once that they are excited about urban planning? We don't do that here.

Don't feel bad -- if the school is the wrong match for them, it's not a good situation for anyone. And yeah, people will decide that they really really are meant go to school X even if it doesn't offer anything at all like what they want to do. Why, I dunno.
