Clearly not. That picture!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Help me, please: Is a pinstriped pants suit Too Much for an interview for an internship? I'm meeting with the executive director.

What kind of fabric, Jesse?

Also, what kind of organization?

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I'm agnostic about god. Can't prove any of it.

I do believe that both what we call "evil" and "divine inspiration" are probably both mental illness. The supernatural explanations are simply somebody's attempt to explain what they don't understand.

I don't believe science is always right or has all the answers...yet. I do believe there is a greater chance of science eventually explaining things, whereas religion is lazy and just stops at "god did it".

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What about the pants and a nice top, no jacket, Jesse?

Kat -- I finally caught up in Veronica Mars. HOT DAMN. I mean, whoa. I am not deep.

Really? Only reason to watch is the HOTT. At least for me. I'm over Nancy Drew.

Also, what makes the HOTT so HOTT is the wrongness of it all. When Logan was on the boat waiting for her? 10 Shades of sadness.

I think the pants would be funny by themselves. Hmm. The place is a social service organization, but it's attached to a housing development company, so the office is fancy.

Then you'll be fine. Better to be too business than not enough.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I don't really like to argue the point, just because it seems to cause more pain than understanding, but that might just be my experience.

I see it sort of like this. At the Bronze, we had a regular named Penlind who made up a story about a dying child and her huge family.

She had no children. Ever.

Even after an exhaustive investigation wit proof laid out for all to see that Penlind's children and story were in fact, not the truth, people continued to believe and were very angry at the rest of us.

They had faith in her, and were also angry that the wool had been pulled over their eyes.

And that was just some crazy chick online. Religion is a huge part of people's belief systems, and mostly makes them feel safe in a world that often isn't.

Self-awareness is both a blessing and a curse, as we're aware of our own mortality. It's terrifying to think that there'll be a day when we'll just stop existing.

That's why I think there are so many jailhouse conversions. It's easy. All you have to do is believe hard enough and God opens the gates to heaven. How fantastic! I suppose, if one has no faith, and then is put in a box for the rest of their lives, they have to believe in afterlife. Otherwise, they've really fucked up their existence in a big way. You only have about 80 years. Better make the most of them and avoid the concrete box.
