These girls have the most beautiful dresses. And so do I -- how about that?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I had no plans for the weekend, but now it looks like I picked up Cubs tickets for Sunday. So that'll be cool.

Ann, that's a ferret.

From Corwood's link:

“I think that people in Fairfax, VA say a lot of things.”

A commenter noted:

Fairfax is like ’50s Dallas or, well, today’s Dallas. Tons of crazy right wing outfits.

Actually, Fairfax (County) is suburbia. Where 1 in 3 residents was born outside the U.S. Los Angelenos, think Orange County without palm trees. Or a beach. Or this week, without sunshine.

You know, whenever my dad is bitching about most of his state legislators being dumber than dirt (he has to deal with the lot of them) I point out that if he lived an hour south, he could play with the Texas legislature, where the whacko is even louder.

He doesn't like it when I play silver lining. It disrupts his grump.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Plans:

Friday we have a half day at work and I'm spending the other half at a day spa getting a massage, facial, mani and pedi. I am so looking forward to it!

Saturday: dinner & Revenge of the Sith.

Good thing: Unexpected date with the BF last night. He was in my neck of the woods for work, so we got to see each other and go out for supper.

And, I vote cookies.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

ChiKat, did you get a chance to watch Lost last night, even with your date?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm instead going to glare narrow-eyed at him

eep!

Though in my defense, it was all about experiencing New Orleans for the first time. And I won't retract because it was worth it just to read about your Rome trip.

Yes, I did. Thank you again! He left around 9:30 (since he lives 1 1/2 hours away) and I sat and watched LOST. Vincent made me cry.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Dude, serious party foul, David. You don't tell a group of people including your wife that your favorite vacation was to your honeymoon location with a previous paramour.
