Fred: It's the pictures in my mind that are getting me. It's like being stuck in a really bad movie with those Clockwork Orange clampy things on my eyeballs. Wesley: Why imagine? Reality's disturbing enough.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Oh, I'm not letting anyone in the apartment yet.

Okay I'm finally caught up on back episodes and am watching tonight's Alias and I'm wondering if Vaughn is gonna die. I mean, look what happened to the last guy who asked Jack for his blessing. Also, Jack's response that time was better. Though the not completely useless crack had me giggling.

A question of no cosmological import whatsoever...I want to make a recipe that calls for pine nuts (which is what non-New Mexicans call pinons). I do not have, nor can I get, pine nuts. What would be a good substitute, or should I just leave nuts out?

It's a chicken dish, and the nuts go in the sauce that goes over the chicken.

What else is in the sauce?

Lemons, capers, gold raisins. Olive oil.

Hmm. Seems like you'd want something rich, sharp, and at least a little nutty to balance that out. (Like, oh, pine nuts.)

What are your available options?

Yeah, pine nuts would be awesome. Sometimes they have them here too, just not right now. Available options are pretty much all other nuts: walnuts, almonds, cashews. Also things like pumpkin seeds and flash-fried chickpeas. I was thinking maybe sunflower seeds, but I'd have to shell them.

Raquel, I don't have any answers, but that was a beautiful post in "Beep Me".

If so, it's because the folks here inspired it. I probably didn't phrase it correctly, and it's probably a little schmoopy, but still.

ION, I just zested my knuckle. Think I'll get a band-aid before I finish making dinner.
