If I only had a brain...

A gloxinia is a flower, actually; kind of an overgrown African violet.

"When I look at people that I would like to feel have been a mentor or an inspiring kind of archetype of what I'd love to see my career eventually be mentioned as a footnote for in the same paragraph, it would be, like, Bowie." ~Trent Reznor

I'm intuiting at 50% of normal today, it seems.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I totally want highlights in 2, 3, and 4 now.

Trust my rage

I'm a bit behind here, but I think the "nuclear option", while very significant (and a realy bad idea, IMHO), is simply a change in Senate rules that can be approved by a majority vote. They don't need the Supreme Court or Cheney or anyone else to get involved - they just have to vote in it.

"Rattan"? Who do they think they're kidding? That's "Harvest Gold," baby, and straight out of the '70s.

Actually, no. It's a change in Senate rules that involves *overruling the Parliamentarian*. That is, they're going to ask the keeper of the Senate Rules if this is a legitimate change. He is going to say no, it's not. (He has already announced this.) They are then going to vote to do it anyway.

What is even happening?

But once they vote, that's the end of it, right? I've tuned out of the news the last few days, but I heard, on NPR, that there is no "recourse" once the rules are changed because it's an internal Senate matter and not appropriate for the courts.

Right. Kick out a check and it's gone.

Our wings are not tired.

Those colors not so big in Florida. Where are the limes and melons?
