I'm apparently Middle to Upper Middle Class (depending on whether I use my meager salary or my household income as the determinant). Top fifth in education, bottom fifth in income.
I'm top fifth in everything but occupation (but right at the top of upper middle there). I know there is a bit of misconception about what middle class really is in this country, but I wouldn't think I'd be that high.
Note to Aurilea and quester: That wasn't my car I drove to lunch.
According to that chart, I'm lower middle except for my education which is top fifth.
Nilly - the papers require a login to get more than the abstracts. Any chance you could e-mail me copies or get me acess in some other way?
Cause better traffic patterns reduce energy consumption; so I think I need to cite this in my global warming book.

In 24 News, I read the Salon article. I had to shut off the ad blocker on my firewall to get the day pass. Talk about your first world whinges. Anyhow, I then googled "24 day 4 islamic jihad marwan". The first page of hits [link] are all real world hits, rather than TV hits, which made me blink. I still haven't found confirmation that the show has presented Marwan & company as Islamic Jihadists, and I still can't remember clearly.
Did anyone else find out, or are you all too busy orgasming?
24: I vaguely remember talk of martyrdom from Behrooz's dad. But I could be making that up.

If nothing else, I'd say that Fox's "I am an American Muslim" (with the unspoken but blatantly obvious "and not a terrorist like the ones on 24" subtext) PSAs strongly implied that that was the show's intent, even if it hasn't been explicitly stated.
But wasn't that in reaction to specific public outrage?
I mean, I'm not as interested in what they meant as I am about what they said, and what everyone assumes that means.
I will never read DFW again. Spent a year with IJ.(Which is not really far off of the orgasm conversation, honestly, because, were it not for a massive crush, I would not have bothered.)
