Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
It's a really fugly little place, but the doughnuts are good and there are tables outside where no one bothers you.
Back in the day, my friends and I used to meet at such a place in the sleepy wee town of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts.
I forget what it was called, because we always just called it, "The Mystical Donut Tree of Life."
ita, about your 24 question, did anyone answer? If not, * I don't think so. There also seems to have been a significant number of people who do not appear to be Turkish, which for some reason is the nationality I have in my head for Behrooz & Family (and I'm assuming Marwan).
Cindy, there's an article up at Salon that's predicated on no Islamic Jihadist would do that, and, like you, I don't remember that being specified in the text at any point. If not, Salon needs to be rapped across the knuckles.
eta: the article in question.
24:
Awwwwwwwww... sniff... so sweet. Oh. Shit. They won't do that to Tony, will they? No, they won't do that. That would make me so. very. angry .
ita, I'm trying to remember the episode a while back, when they were discussing who it could be. It must have been either before, or just when CTU got Dina and Behrooz.
I don't think Islam was ever mentioned, but I rewatched season 2 while I was watching season 4, and it does get all combined in the brain.
At first I did keep expecting it to be an Islamic jihad group, because for some reason I do think Behrooz & family are Turkish. But then they have all these Americans (many of who appear to have Euro ancestry) working for them, and even though I know there are Muslims of Euro ancestry, and Muslim Americans of Euro ancestry, the Euro Americans they have don't strike me as being in it for anything other than the money, and I can't make it be a jihadist group in my head. I keep thinking, "Nope, they're going to go somewhere else with this one."
There are only a couple of episodes left, right--tonight and next week?
I'll have to read the Salon piece in the morning. Scott's waiting for me to watch 24 right now. He's had back spasms and is miserable, and I think I need to get him some flexeril, or something.
My first thought on seeing Natalie with her newly-shorn head, standing next to Lucus, was that it was her way of telling him he couldn't make her wear all manner of silly hairdos anymore. Kinda' a 'Fuck you very much for all the stupid hair.' (In a nice way.)
I too must get my hair cut this week, for I fear the heat and humidity of New Orleans would prove very conclusively that tubby men of Irish descent don't look good in afros.
I will get my hair cut tomorrow.
Because it is too long.
Also, so I won't look as dorky while in NO.
I have bought shorts at Old Navy. And dress pants at Marshal Fields, which I actually got altered for my inseam. Go me!
eta: Also, I will have somewhere between zero and two (inclusive) iBooks for the trip....
