If I only had a brain...

I want to know what the horses used to type with when they ordered it over the Internet.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

So, folks, what are some good things about the American high school system?

Emily, is this for grad school for you?

Here are good things:

HS give students a mediated chance to learn how to make choices, with still clear expectations. So you know you need to do X, Y, Z but you still can make choices in terms of electives and it won't screw up your life if you choose the wrong one.

Another excellent aspect of being HS-aged is how small the amount of money you need to feel flush with cash.

Most US high schools have a LOT extracurriculuar activities which you can choose to participate in or not.

What is even happening?

Offered without comment:
Italian horses given Viagra boost
Well, there's just too many comments from which to choose. Do you go with the obvious stallion comparisons, or say something about slow and steady wins the race, or being ridden hard and put away wet?

Cheerios.

Thanks, Hil. I think this brand is even sold in Israel - I remember seeing the box.

I'm surprised. Usually, your English is perfect.

Cindy, you're really sweet. But considering the evidence, well, I can't see many single Jewish Israeli men agreeing with you. Of course (as I always say to my single nearly-desperate friends), it only has to work once, so statistics doesn't mean anything.

I read this as medicated.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

A-yup.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I read this as medicated.

Well, that too, depending on the student.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I'm signing into Hotmail today, and it tells me that the credit card I have on file with them is about to expire and I should update it.

Isn't this because all Microsoft owned internet services require you to use Microsoft Passport (or whatever it's called) in order to register? It's Passport that tracks your credit card, regardless of what service you're using at the time.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Here are good things:

Also, given how economically segregated most neighborhood environments are, public high schools can be one of the few places where people encounter other classes/ethnicities/backgrounds on a personal level.
