Man, you just get darker and darker, and the weird thing is, your aura? Beige.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Heh. They're doing some chinese lion ceremony at the zoo - drums and a couple of guys in a lion suit dancing (a really cool one, like the dragons at chinese new year) outside the lion enclosure.

But as the dancers approached, they had the camera focus on this huge, magestic lion sitting there in one of those almost iconic poses - until the dancers came into sight, at which point he jumped up and scampered behind a log. Poor startled kitty.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

First time he'd seen a cat bigger than himself? :-)

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

sarameg, I was actually pretty good. They didn't have either of the two titles I wanted in paperback (Hoot and True Beleiver) so I didn't get either of the books I was actually looking for. I did get Al Capone Does My Shirts (like 20+ copies) as well as a copy of the Jennifer Weirner hardback I wanted. At least they were 50% off.

Our wings are not tired.

So happy anniversary, and may your right to call it that be re-affirmed by the powers that be as soon as possible, and happy cakeiversary, Kat and Lori!

What JZ said. Also, I love the term cakeiversary.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It was one hell of a cake, and one hell of a celebration.

Robert's off playing tennis with the ambassador and the Greek Minister of Something-or-Other (sometimes being a diplomat really *is* like that)

Heh. I was both surprised and totally not to find out that there was a diplomatic tennis ranking in Ottawa. My dad was knocked off the #1 spot by some youngshot consular employee. He was a wee bit bitter.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

It was one hell of a cake, and one hell of a celebration.

What ita said.

I'm very excited. I'm about to go get on a train to head into SF to see cool people (and this week, no migraine!). I feel like an actual NoCaler.
