Berger's are a B'more phenomenon, different from the b&w cookies. And much smaller. However I am mystified by their cultlike status as well.

well....they are delicious. very, very delicious. I carted a box to Hawaii last winter to bring to my b'more ex-pat friend to share with her niece and nephew and she wouldn't bring it home to them at all. She needed them all for herself.
Man, I don' know any of these "cookies".

I liked them a lot, but when it comes to cookies I'm not always very discriminating. And everything from Bodymore gets a little extra goodwill anyway. Even if Frank Pembleton says you can't make an egg cream. ETA: I'm from Phoenix. Our big claim to fame is potato chips that taste like peppers.
