Gud, this is why I'm still running OSX 10.2.1 despite having free cds of Panther for over a month. And promises for Tiger (is that what it is called?) anytime I want it.

There's nothing wrong with the OS, it's just an annoying having this stuff running in the background while trying to do other stuff. I have to say, XP is actually doing a pretty decent job considering how much stuff is running on my computer right now.

Gud, anything involving 'puters for me is the equivalent of a new OS. It doesn't matter I program at work and am supposedley technically adept, I try to think as little as possible when involving them. Which is why I like macs. No thought involved.
