OK, I'm feeling slightly less postal toward the postal service, since my Amazon order arrived today. So for now I'm assuming they just screwed up one day's worth of mail last week.

We're getting our first thunderstorm of the season. Whee!
So Calli linked to this pic-off between MR and OB fans. Much pretty goodness, some of which I've ganked, but I can't get over how much this makes me laugh. Michael Rosenbaum is a bad, bad, man.
once again I must say thank you ita.
Oh, dear. Dear. Bless you, ita. And bless you, too, Calli.
Not enough drool in the world.
Glad to spread the joy.
I just caught up on three weeks of Veronica Mars. I don't love it, I don't even like her, but DAMN I'm going to stay tuned to see Logan look at her the way he looks at her. Kissing her is gravy. That's about the only reason I'm in it.
I'm still trying to wind down from Emmett's game, it was so tense. But we won and beat the only undefeated team in our division. Lead see-sawed, clutch pitching, clutch defense, two out rallies, stranding runners, diving plays, baserunners going over the heads of defenders, big hits.
The kids had a blast and it was nice redemption after losing to this team early in the season when we coughed up a big lead. Emmett played really well today - hitting, pitching and fielding. Whole team played well. They'e starting to feel how good they are too. We've got a lot of talent and we're just now harnessing it.
And now I've got to go see the Lost in The Grooves free concert tonight with Scott Miller (Loud Family and Game Theory). This has been underpublicized (we didn't get listings in the weeklies for some reason), so I'm hoping we managed to alert his fanbase (which is at least a couple hundred strong around SF).
Hec, I forgot to say, one of the scientists recommended your book to me.
I said, "I know him!"
And then we were talking about books, and I mentioned mine, and what it's about. And he looked shocked, like I was a weirdo for the online friend stuff. Like I am a crazyperson.
I think publishing this may be an uphill battle.
Also, Mandy Patankin was on my flight to NYC this past Sunday. About 3 rows ahead of me. What the heck is he doing flying Jet Blue.
Hey, you were on my mom's flight! Lucky. When I fly with my mom I get all kinds of animal crackers, soda, and magazines. I'm so jealous.
I know my impatience with actions like the fake kidnapping is heightened by two factors: my reaction to the perpetual expectation of me (as older sister) to excuse behaviour in others that I'm not to excuse in myself, nor expect to be excused for (and even the exhortation to not be me, so that other people can be themselves), and of having had the luxury to never have found myself in such a twisty position (with the result that I doubt they happen that often).
I'm not even entirely sure I understood that, since it read like a legal document to me, but I think I completely agree.
I have to name-drop. I went to see this off-Broadway play this afternoon, starring Vincent Kartheiser, because my friend used to be his agent. So we talked to his girlfriend at the intermission, and then after the play, went up to the (amazing!!) apartment where he's been staying for the run of the show. Vinnie almost bummed a cigarette off me, but rejected it because it was menthol.
You can all touch me now.
