So a DC-9 that was flying to Minneapolis reported hydraulic problems while in the air. The plane landed without incident, but when it was taxiing to the gate the brakes failed. It ended up lodged under an Airbus. Six people were injured.
I'm mostly posting this because of the pictures - they fall under the "stuff you don't see every day" catagory....

Today I am wearing red pants and a black t-shirt, so I am wearing red panties and a black bra.
And, see, to me, that would match -- my "rule" is that if I'd wear the colors together on the outside, they're okay as a set of underthings. What wouldn't match would be, like, orange underpants and a purple bra, or two different-and-clashy multicolored floral prints. White and black bras and panties go with everything, in my world.
This makes me sound a little OCD, doesn't it?
What the heck is wrong with Kirk(on GG)'s chest?
I was wonderng the same thing. It almost looks like he has a third pec.
The thing that bugged me on GG was how quickly Lorelai's pregancy scare was resolved. As shown, that was pointless angst, and I hope she really is pregnant because otherwise I'm going to assume the show's writers all need a remedial course in How Babies Are Made.
The rules say you have to pay off your cab. (Which can also be accomplished by negotiating a lower rate, but since they didn't do that, they owed him the full metered amount.)
What would happen if they got the cabby's card and arranged to send him the full fare when they got home? Would that also be against the rules?
This may have been covered (I didn't read all the whitefont), but (VM spoiler) I think that the person at the door at the end was Wallace. Who else would she look at and be completely relieved to see? With Logan, she'd have to think about the whole "your dad tried to kill me" factor (plus she'd probably look horrified at his beaten state, given the showdown with Weevil), and with Duncan, she'd still have baggage. Wallace is her best bud who would have lost the last issue they had since she got rid of her mom and ushered his mom back into the picture. This is my theory and I'm stickin' to it.

I'd guess yes, since using your own money for anything is against the rules. Part of the challenge is having limited funds.
Was there a finale party Jessica?

Do you know if they're not allowed ask locals for money? I understand that they probably went
to the airport to beg because there would be many more people around at that time of night. But I was wondering why they didn't seem to ask the hotel staff for any money
at all.

There was, but it's turned into much more of a Finale Press Event than a party. (TARcon is still considered the "real" party for most of the cast & crew.)

Oh yeah, they can beg from anyone. (That's the only way the last team on a nonelimination leg ever gets anywhere.)
I do recall an instance of a team
failing to pay a taxi driver properly -- it was Chip and Kim, in Abu Dhabi (or, Oman? Anyway, opulent hotel + desert), and the taxi driver took them all the way out to the next clue in the middle of nowhere, and clearly had no idea that all the team had was $20. Chip resolved this with bounding enthusiasm and hugs, but the taxi driver was pretty clearly nonplussed when the team headed off. And didn't speak good enough English to make his objection properly understood.
I hate the begging. It smacks of intentional humiliation, and it never seems possible for the team in question to just do without -- taxis are always needed immediately.
Now, trying to travel the world with no baggage, that's funny, and an interesting predicament; but you can make do without baggage for a day or two.
TAR:
AMAZING!
I think that
Uchenna
broke
Phil
with that
hug.
I was going to say that I'd hope that
U&J would have taken off running for the finish
if they'd seen
R&A coming around the corner,
but I didn't know about that
"You MUST pay your cabbie"
rule.
I'd like to think there's both a
cabbie
and an
airline pilot
who get
a big tip now.
I have an etiquette question, especially for the (recent) moms around. Last night, a classmate told me she was three months pregnant, and I immediately looked at her mid-section. Was that unbearably rude? I couldn't help myself! But I could try to do better next time.
