Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Grown-up size is 6 1/2-7.

My classes end Wednesday too. I've got stuff due through next Tuesday, though.

I can't believe how whiny I am for only taking three classes this semester.

Don't even start! That's what I took this semester too, and some days it was like pulling teeth with a spoon.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Huh. It's smaller in kids? That fascinates me.

I have one assignment due (done), one final to take, one medium paper due (half done), and one big paper (half done). So, doable, as long as I actually do it! I'm still contemplating calling out from work tomorrow.

Yeah, but kid's size 13 is much smaller than kid's size 4, so I don't know WHAT'S going on.

I'd be contemplating that too, Jesse.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Kids sizes go from baby sizes up to 13, then start over again at 1. The bigger sizes, starting at 1 there, are technically "youth" sizes, and correspond roughly to mens sizes, extrapolated downward. So boys sizes and mens sizes are on the same scale pretty much, but girls sizes are about 1 1/2 to 2 numbers smaller than the equivalently sized womens shoes. (So, I wear a 5 or 6 in womens, but a 3 or 4 in kids.) Kids sizes used to stop at 4, but now a lot of companies go up to 6.

The whole size thing is a CIA mind control experiment in what people will put up with.

OMG total 1930s lesbo miscegenation on Cold Case tonight.

I am still "taking a break" from working. Whoops. Crap.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Well, you should come back to the bored armed with stories of good crazy fun.

As a matter of fact I do.

Doorbell rang, and I buzzed Phil in. It'd been raining so I called down, "Do you need a towel?" And he said yes, and that he'd brought his girlfriend too. So I look down the stairwell, and think, "Shit that looks like [Well Known Film Actress]!"

And Phil introduces her and it is indeed WKFA. So we hang around the apartment and I show them the fun stuff, and I'm showing Phil my Tick paraphenalia and he doesn't know anything about The Tick, but he does know Patrick Warburton pretty well because he's done a lot of the celebrity poker TV things that Phil does. (Which is how Phil met WKFA.) WKFA knew him too and told some fun movie insider stories about other people. But mostly I'm showing them books about Weimar Germany and talking up the Pirate store.

So we go down to the Mission and I show them 826 Valencia and Paxton Gate and Borderlands Books (with the hairless cat). And it's fun and casual. So we walked down and had lunch at Ti Couz. And while we were there eating at the corner of the bar, a teenage boy came up and was standing there looking kind of sheepish. And I realized he wanted an autograph. And Phil looked up and the boy asked Phil for the autograph! It was so weird. Phil's there with WKFA and he's getting asked for his autograph by this teenage poker player and fan.

On the way back to the car we stopped at the cool hat store because WKFA is a serious fashionista and collects couture and vintage clothes. She got several one-of-kind hats from a local millinery. About $700 on hats, boom like that.

While we were talking I pointed out to Phil that I hadn't seen him since the wedding which was almost exactly a year ago. And he apologized for not getting us a present yet and said, he wanted to buy us a weekend trip. So I said, we'd like to go Las Vegas, and Phil said, "I could totally set you up at the Bellagio. I get a special deal there."

So, tentative plans are for JZ and I to meet up with Phil and WKFA for a weekend in Vegas as schedules permit.

Not what I had planned for this Sunday, let me tell you.
