Numb3rs:
did it look like one of these?

I seem to recall it was supposed to be VTOL, which made me think of a gyrocopter with pre-launch rotor spin-up capability. There aren't many of those. And they ignored the vast volume of air traffic over the L. A. metro area, including news and police helicopters.
They didn't address ground clutter either, did they? Or why the test flight took place over the city?
Numb3rs:
No, it was a single passenger plane, smaller than those.
It was
VTOL, but silent VTOL, which I don't buy at all. I've heard Harriers in VTOL mode. They're the loudest things this side of a shuttle launch.
As far as the
test flight, they never did clear up what that was all about. Maybe he was trying for the Staples Center.
All in all, I thought it was probably the weakest A-story they've had so far.
This new Doctor.
DX -- I agree about the weakness. Not only did bits of the science not seem to make sense, but they left a lot unanswered.
you all are confusing me.
But not as much as what got Tivoed for us. It says Phantom Menace, but it really is a movie with parts of the first Star Wars, the third Star Wars...
I don't get it. I think I'm dreaming it.
No wait. It's really just Return of the Jedi. But my Tivo thinks Ewan McGregor is in it.
Well, crap. Board ate my post.
What Perkins said.
