Gud, I've heard that the Volvo wagon kicks major ass as a family car.
I dunno that we'd actually do it, the Minivan is pretty nice and we're under warrenty for another 2 years and 40,000 miles. OTOH, I e-mailed it to my wife and she really likes it but is unsure about being a sterotypical liberal mom.
Wind sucks. Gentle breezes are great, but I hate big wind. Now my ears hurt. I think I may just have to order pizza for dinner, but given my time zone, that is a long time away. Who knows what will happen.
It's a hard choice--the right family vehicle. At one point, DH swore he wanted to get a Dodge Power Wagon. I had a tough time convincing him that we'd never find one and that he'd never be able to restore it completely by himself.
Life is often a compromise for the two of us. Which means we're going to buy the minivan that I want when I find it.
When we got the Minivan, there was still a third child question. But that's looking unlikely now. So now, something that gets better fuel economy but can still carry mulch and wood and stuff like that. But those extra seats do come in handy time to time, and even with the kids in the van, there is a huge amount of cargo space that a wagon can't match. OTOH, my wife doesn't like the van in the snow and ice and a manual wagon would probably be better. I think we'll probably stick with the van though, the gas mileage doesn't add up to that much savings even with current gas prices.
I've said it a million other places and I'll say it again.
Filled up the Windstar this morning.
$59.00
The DJs this morning had a bit about the photo of Fearless Leader holding hands with that Saudi Arabian diplomat. One of them said that if it's going to get gas prices lowered, she wants Bush to do whatever is necessary.
Which makes me think, while there are many downsides to living in Memphis, where else can you turn your radio dial and hear Isaac Hayes doing his regular shift as a DJ for the Hot Buttered Love Songs show?
Gud--take a look at the Element, and if you hit the lottery, the Dodge Magnum. Lots of cargo space, great mileage and fun to drive. The BF reviewed (and really liked) both of them.
my dinner is homemade guac and salad.
Mmm. Guacamole. My dinner probably will consist of whatever I've got stashed in the work refrigerator.
Half the time famous people don't even ping my radar. Though I did get a little twinge when I met Patrick Stewart and also Harvey Corman.
Also, Mandy Patankin was on my flight to NYC this past Sunday. About 3 rows ahead of me. What the heck is he doing flying Jet Blue.
I talked to Jon Lithgow for 2 minutes before I clued in who I was talking to.
sara? you here? can you call my cell? thanks.
