I was just at CVS buying a Mother's Day card, and someone had left this pamphlet in the card stacks. The front had a picture of a little red-headed, freckled boy (I think he may have been in a Cub Scout uniform) singing, in front of an American flag. The inside told a bit about Irving Berlin's life, and went on about how most of us have the blessing of being born in this country, while some others have to come here to get the freedom they can't have in their native countries. And that Irving Berlin wrote "God Bless America" to express his profound thanks to the Creator for giving him the blessing of liberty in America. And how we should all follow Irving Berlin's example and thank Christ for the blessing of American freedom.
Just a slight problem with that argument, there.
