Tracy: Well-- That call -- That call means you just murdered me. Mal: No, son. You murdered yourself. I just carried the bullet a while.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, huh. I could have done. I guess I still could, but I'm not all that worried. It's not like I'm ever on AIM anyway.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Segment work and play! Divide! Box up! Compartmentalise! Also -- draw lines.

Way back before I could access work email from home, I wouldn't give out my home email or phone. I'm big on leaving the job at the job. Now I tell people I don't check email (I don't) frequently, if at all. Of course, I also use the answering machine to screen calls.

I like being unreachable. Or rather, controlling who I communicate with. My whims, people, MINE.

but I kept smiling, so I think they mistook my jabs as humor. It's a mistake people make.

Ah, but was it fun and not just annoying?

I'm sleepy. I think I might be reacting to the smell of something my officemate ate. It's coming awfully close to my reaction to raw onions. Annoying.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

it was only fun in that I had answers for everything, no one yelled at me, and I was a smartass 3-4 times.

That sounds pretty close to my definition of fun -- toss in a bit of shirtless hottie men and unarmed combat, and it's perfect.

It's rational of me to not want to embark on meeting #3 today, right? Especially with the amount of prep I'll need to do for #4.

Well sure. You would say that.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

She did clarify that it's Friday. You, Alibelle, never mentioned a date at all, so she has one up on you.

I so DID mention a date. I am somewhat incapable of mentioning my graduation without also mentioning Friday the thirteenth along with it. I distinctly remember saying it to you. If you weren't hanging off my every word, then that's your loss, isn't it?

Not if I end up going anyway, no.

Actually, not even if I don't go.

What is even happening?

Alibelle's graduating already? How did this happen? When did this happen? It must have happened when I was chasing those darned kids offa my lawn.

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

The only other person working in my office today has just left to go home and watch the Canada-US hockey game which is apparently happening now. I'm the only person in the building now. This is not helping my motivation or focus, both of which were already at just-woke-up levels. Bleh.
